Creating a commission piece

1-Collaboration

Commissioning a painting isn’t as overwhelming as you may think. The first step is to email me, letting me know that you’d like to discuss a commission. You can do this via the ‘contact’ button on this website. We will then work together to determine the size, tone, colours and composition, to work in the room you’ve chosen to display the piece. This can all take place in person or over the phone.

2-Creating your unique piece

Once I feel I’ve gathered all the right information, I will begin the wonderful process of creating a one-off painting for your home.

throughout the process, I will send update photos which gives you an idea of progress and an opportunity to suggest changes/tweaks.

This process can take between 3 weeks and 12 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the painting. Oil paints take longer to dry, so the painting is built in layers.

3-Completing the process

When the painting is complete, we can discuss options for framing. I use an excellent local framer, Mathieu, who has framed countless pieces of my art.

I will then prepare the painting to be delivered or collected from my studio. The rest of the story will unfold in your home.

Framing

All my pieces are framed by local framer, Mathieu. Mathieu is a gifted craftsman, who seeks to compliment each painting with intricate attention to detail. Frames can be painted or simply varnished, preserving the beautiful wood grain.
